FreeGeek is a non-profit community organization that recycles and refurbishes used technology, Free Geek happily provides computers, education, and job skills training to volunteers in exchange for their service.
Mo is volunteering in the Build Program at Free Geek this summer and recently earned her free computer which she will donate to an individual as part of sponsoring high school students. Seen here working in the build program she is now off to master additional skills loading Linux and fixing Notebooks.
Free Geek can teach you how to build computers. If you agree to complete at least five computers, we will teach you the process. The computers you build go to those in the Adoption Program, local not-for-profits, and the thrift store. This program focuses on learning about building computers, but you can keep the sixth computer you complete.
